Το ” Send Me an Angel ” ηχογραφήθηκε για το 11ο στούντιο άλμπουμ τους , Crazy World (1990).

Συντέθηκε από τον Rudolf Schenker , σε σενάριο Klaus Meine και παραγωγή από τον Keith Olsen και το συγκρότημα.Κυκλοφόρησε ως το τέταρτο και τελευταίο σινγκλ του άλμπουμ τον Σεπτέμβριο του 1991.

Μαζί με το ” Wind of Change “, το τραγούδι έγινε το χαρακτηριστικό κομμάτι του άλμπουμ, φτάνοντας στο νούμερο 44 στο Billboard Hot 100 Chart στις 25 Ιανουαρίου 1992, νούμερο 8 στο Mainstream Rock Chart στις 19 Οκτωβρίου 1991 και υψηλές θέσεις σε πολλές ευρωπαϊκές χώρες.
