Το ” Nightshift ” είναι ένα τραγούδι του 1985 από τους Commodores και το ομότιτλο κομμάτι από το ομώνυμο άλμπουμ τους .
Το τραγούδι γράφτηκε από τον τραγουδιστή Walter Orange σε συνεργασία με τους Dennis Lambert και Franne Golde ως φόρο τιμής στους τραγουδιστές της soul/R&B Jackie Wilson και Marvin Gaye , οι οποίοι πέθαναν και οι δύο το 1984.
Κυκλοφόρησε ως το πρώτο σινγκλ του άλμπουμ τον Ιανουάριο του 1985 από την Motown Records .
Το “Nightshift” ηχογραφήθηκε το 1984 και έγινε η πρώτη επιτυχία των Commodores μετά την αποχώρηση του Lionel Richie από το συγκρότημα.
