Η Λόρα Μπράνιγκαν ήταν Αμερικανίδα τραγουδίστρια, αστέρι της ποπ, που μεσουράνησε στη δεκαετία του ’80.
Έκανε μεγάλη επιτυχία το 1982 με το τραγούδι «Gloria» με το οποίο παρέμεινε στην κορυφή του «Μπίλμπορντ» περισσότερο από 22 εβδομάδες.
Ηταν επίσης τέσσερις φορές υποψήφια για το Βραβείο Γκράμι με τα τραγούδια: «Self Control», «How am i suppose to live without you», «Solitaire» κ.ά.
Πέθανε ήσυχα ενώ κοιμόταν στο σπίτι της στο Λονγκ Αϊλαντ. Οι γιατροί διέγνωσαν ότι η 52χρονη τραγουδίστρια πέθανε από εγκεφαλικό ανεύρυσμα
